The Princess Cake

Traditions in Sweden are strong, and it is seen through their food. When I pass by bakeries or grocery stores, there is always a ready-made cake called The Princess Cake, which dates back to its creation in the 1930s.

Served during dessert, The Princess Cake has at least two layers of sponge cake with raspberry jam and cream in-between, plus an added thick round top layer of whipped cream. Then, they use Marzipan for the entire cake for its smooth cover, and later sprinkled with powdered sugar on top. They are usually served in green, with a pink marzipan rose for decoration. The name of the cake originally know as "Green Cake" but later called Princess Cake because princesses have grown fond of this.

Variants of The Princess Cake were said to be called Prince Cake, so I would then safely assume that this blue cake we bought from ICA Maxi's Bakery would fit into that category because the recipe is the same, except for the blue marzipan cover and the yellow marzipan rose that decorated it.
