Homebaked Bread


Sometimes, we bake our own bread, with the help of a store-bought bread mix. Just add water, let it yeast for awhile by leaving it in the mixing bowl covered with a piece of cloth, and it is ready to be put in the oven.

Several brands focus mostly on generic whole wheat bread, so we prefer Kungsörnen, which means Royal Eagle in English, when buying store-bought bread mixes, just because of the varieties of bread flavors they offer.

We baked a couple of sunflower seed bread, and decided to pour honey into the mixture before baking them. We also occasionally add honey on top of to the dough for added flavor.

Just something I realized: baking your own bread makes your sandwiches taste better. There's this feeling of satisfaction in making your own food, and preparing it to eat for later!



Done, and it's smells so good!


Going back to the topic of bread mixes, they can be bought at any local supermarket in Sweden. Some brands or bread types come with either dry or fresh yeast. Dry yeast is in powder form, while fresh yeast looks like food cube flavorings.
