Morcie Red Meat Sauce

Tomato sauce is usually prepared with pasta. Its origins, whether Italian, American, or French, is still quite debatable! Whatever the case, below is a recipe we use for our red sauce. Hope you would enjoy cooking it as much as we eat it! :D

Ingredients

  • Vegetable Oil (4 tablespoons. or 59 milliliters)
  • Onions: ripe and chopped (1 cup)
  • Garlic: 1 clove, large
  • Vinegar: either garlic-flavored or Druvan's apple cider (20 centiliters)
  • Crushed Tomatoes: ICA or any preferred brand (500 grams)
  • Minced Meat: pork or beef (750 grams)
  • Black Pepper: 1 tablespoon
  • Salt: 1 teaspon

Directions

  1. On a separate pan, heat up the vegetable oil.
  2. Fry the garlic and onion together.
  3. Add pepper into the fry mix.
  4. After the garlic and onions have softened up, put them onto a separate pot (taller and wider).
  5. Add the meat, and let it cook for about 30-45 minutes on low to medium heat.
  6. Stir every 10 minutes.
  7. Wait until the oil from the minced meat had properly come out, then add the tomatoes.
  8. Keep the lid on and let it boil on medium heat for a maximum of another 45 minutes.
  9. Continue stirring every 10 minutes. If the sauce seems ready before the above-mentioned time, turn off the stove and keep the pot covered. This ensures that the remaining heat will continue to spread inside the pot and keep the sauce warm and fresh.
  10. Serve with pasta and/or bread.
