Caramel Apple Pie Pockets from Kraft Recipes
We have recently harvested an
entire bag of apples and decided to bake Caramel Apple Pie Pockets from Kraft Recipes.
The steps are basically simple. One can opt to prepare this with ready-to-use pie crusts or make your own puff pastries instead, which you can cut into small squares. You then add ingredients such as flour, apples, and your chosen spices (we used nutmeg and cinnamon) which we can refer to as "apple filling". Put this filling into the small squares, and fold them into triangular shapes. Voila! There goes the Caramel Apple Pie Pockets! Don't forget to add the chocolate caramel tidbits into the filling (we used Marabou for this one). To have a more detailed procedure of this recipe, you can click on the link above.
I think "Marabou" in Sweden is handled by Kraft Foods. This is why we used this brand of chocolate instead. Personally, we might not be doing this again soon. The outcome was not as tasty as it looked on the pictures. It's possible that we might have made the wrong type of puff pastry, or that we used a different type of apples. Either way, it was fun to try and it sure was worth having for fika :)
